St. Mary’s Trochu Foundation, Board of Directors

The St. Mary's Trochu Foundation board of directors are excellent stewards of the donations they receive for St. Mary's Health Care Centre. The funds they provide the site increase St. Mary’s capacity to serve residents and the community, and to take those services from good to great.

Board members ask thoughtful questions when grant requests are submitted and engage in meaningful conversation before deciding what they will fund.  When considering a request, they think about the current resident community, the facilities needs for the future and also the donor’s intentions for the funds they have entrusted the foundation with.

St. Mary's Trochu Foundation funded ceiling lifts for Long Term Care resident rooms, as well as portable lifts for use elsewhere on the floor or in the facility. These lifts have greatly improved the transfers for residents and staff by reducing incidents and injuries. The foundation has shown great support and concern for the wellbeing of residents and staff.

St. Mary's Trochu Foundation funded many staff functions, such as Christmas parties, BBQ's and pizza parties. Not only do they fund these events, but they participate with the community by attending, cooking, serving and celebrating together. The staff and residents comment on how they appreciate these efforts and that they make everyone feel appreciated as they work together to provide the best care.
