Randolph Greening, Resident Volunteer

Randolph advocates for all the residents at St. Therese Villa. Many residents are shy or cannot communicate, and they rely on Randolph to have a voice for them. He liaises with food services, recreation, maintenance and the care team on behalf of these residents. Randolph writes beautiful poetry that he shares with our residents and staff. One poem that stands out was written for a resident who was in a delirious state and wanted to "escape". Randolph wrote this poem from the resident's perspective, acknowledging the angst and fear he must have been experiencing.

Randolph is one of our valued volunteers who sings regularly for our residents. He bought his own karaoke equipment and sound system for this purpose. Sometimes, even when he is not booked to perform, he will recognize a resident or group who need some cheer and he will start singing for them. "Randolph is the music in their heads when they go to sleep."
 
As a resident - volunteer, Randolph's tremendous, unselfish and giving efforts have truly made a happy difference for our residents and their families. He adds a warmth and charm to St. Therese Villa, always smiling and doing thoughtful things. His efforts result in happy moments and in a general warmth all around the site.
