Covenant is committed to compassion, putting the care of the people we serve at the forefront. Jayleen practices stewardship as she supports the health of her co-workers to helps minimize employee burnout. Jayleen's work as wellness coordinator adds warmth to the facility. She fills a "wellness board" with current wellness information, tips, games and drawings. Her efforts to help keep employees well and engaged are appreciated by the staff. Jay facilitated a Wellness Wednesday which included emailing out tips and helpful links, creating posters and messages on whiteboards, and a lot of face-to-face time with a roving cart. She made efforts to ensure that evening and night staff weren’t missed.

Jayleen also champions a safe and healthy workplace through co-chairing Joint Worksite Health and Safety Committee meetings. She completes extra education to stay current on changes in standards. She supports our front-line staff, so they can provide care for our residents. This work is outside of Jayleen’s role as a recreational therapy activity assistant, in which she demonstrates incredible collaboration, compassion, respect, and integrity to care for the people we serve. Her attention to her co-workers well-being ensures that the team is healthy and able to continue their important care-giving work.
