Kasia's compassion and energy is contagious. Her co-workers and clients in the Seniors’ Day program love coming to participate in the program because of her. Kasia is committed to person-centred care; she keeps safety at the heart of everything she does. Kasia makes family members feel comfortable leaving their loved ones in our care. She connects with new clients and their families to better understand their unique needs. The client’s faces light up when they see Kasia and the laughter from her therapy area permeates the program space. Many clients experience depression and loneliness, but their interactions with Kasia lighten their spirits.

Kasia's care for her coworkers is just as clear. She is active in building team engagement and a positive culture. She connects with new staff to better understand them and make them feel valued. Kasia listens respectfully when her coworkers are stressed and asks what they need. Distancing herself from gossip, Kasia sets an example of respecting others where they are. She can sense co-workers emotions and checks in with them. She is sensitive to mental health needs in the workplace and does what she can to create a safe, honest space that encourages people to open up about the "elephant in the room" and find support.
