Dana models ethical stewardship of resources by working to ensure teams across St. Mary’s Hospital are supported and finding creative ways to enhance care. She is also quick to advocate for evidence-based practices and quality improvement initiatives. She is often the first to point out opportunities to implement best practices that benefit patients and families. Dana has supported numerous pathway enhancements, including the stroke, heart failure and arthroplasty pathways.

Even when challenged by limited services in a rural setting, Dana is known for thinking outside the box. Last summer, she recognized St. Mary’s inpatients didn’t have access to speech language pathology services and brought local leaders together to find opportunities to address the gap. After thoughtful collaboration with AHS and various Covenant teams and leaders, Dana was able to make these services available to patients who need them to ease the transition back into their communities.
