She is often regarded as a source of strength and is a champion of holistic care for residents and family members alike, naturally forming meaningful connections while providing care and companionship.

Anna’s compassion permeates every aspect of her work with residents and their families, where she is present emotionally and physically during times of joy, grief and loss. She attends many resident memorials to stand in solidarity with family members, which she considers an important part of caring for a resident’s family. Being present with families during these times of vulnerability is a way to lend support and honour residents. Anna finds that hearing the tributes offered in memory of residents helps her to reflect on the many facets of the person she cared for, strengthening her capacity as a caregiver to provide comprehensive, personalized care.
