Elena has a reputation for going above and beyond her regular duties to make life better for the residents she serves. As a health care aide in Chateau Vitaline’s dementia unit, her work includes challenges that come with the complex care needs, but this only fuels her drive to deliver care that honours residents. She is often finding ways to enhance residents’ dignity and quality of life, and recently sewed each resident on the unit a clothing protector to use during meals.

Elena’s desire to help her colleagues is an invaluable asset at Chateau Vitaline, and her obliging energy quickly rubs off on others. Always eager to support those who need it, she doesn’t hesitate to fill gaps and assist when workloads are heavy. Her tendency to support others has served Elena well in her recent role as preceptor, where she guided her student using knowledge, patience and empathy. Under Elena’s guidance, the student excelled in their preceptorship and graduated from the program.
