Michelle Stone, Nurse Practitioner, Professional Practice

Michelle Stone is a nurse practitioner and professional practice lead for advanced nursing practice. Michelle demonstrates her integrity by advocating with passion for those in advanced practice nursing and all levels of nursing. To show her passion is more than words, she hosted the “Big Thoughts, Little Talks” full-day event for nurses last spring. She brought together presenters to engage with nurses from multiple sites to challenge them to think beyond their sites, disciplines and day-to-day work in order to enhance their practice.

Michelle takes opportunities to learn from others, using what she learns to advocate for practices which improve patient outcomes. When advanced practice nursing was challenged at continuing care facilities, she did extensive research, engaged regulatory bodies, multiple stakeholders and even challenged the legislation. Her work enabled advanced practice nurses to practice to full scope.
