Betty leads a culturally diverse team. She shows incredible understanding for each individual as she organizes her team around the shared goal to provide the best experience to residents. Betty is a champion listener. She can be seen actively listening, quite often physically stooping at the level of the residents, appropriately nodding, and giving them her full gaze and attention. Residents comment that 'most of our problems are resolved, just because Betty took the time to listen.'

While Betty is busy, she is never rushed. She brings a sense of calm to conflict situations, because her presence creates understanding and resolution. While there are many tasks to be done, Betty takes a thoughtful approach to prioritize what is most important. Her ultimate 'task' is the care and safety of residents and the committed presence of the staff.   If a residents has a fall or a family member has a pressing need, Betty makes these her priorities and other less crucial items gets postponed to a quieter time of the day.

Betty fosters a respectful workplace. As she treats everyone she meets with respect it helps instill confidence in them and offer them much-needed encouragement, support and goodwill to do their best for others.
