As a licensed practical nurse, Sandeep is committed to client-centred care. Her first priority is always ensuring clients at Chateau Vitaline have the best care possible.

Sandeep provides that care by establishing relationships with residents and families as well as co-workers and managers. She listens to family members and is empathetic to their concerns. She goes above and beyond to help their situation if she can. When a resident refused to sleep in her own bed because it was hurting her back and creating breathing problems, Sandeep advocated for the resident, communicated with the Alberta Health Services case manager and within 24 hours the resident was sleeping in a hospital bed.

Her calmness and capabilities are recognized by staff who appreciate that Sandeep is willing to always support others. When a resident in the dementia care unit became aggressive, the unit staff called her for assistance even though she was not assigned to the unit. Sandeep arrived immediately and calmed the situation.

Sandeep combines compassion with her professional clinical skills to ensure residents and staff are well taken care of. Along with coaching others, she’s completed a number of audits to ensure the highest quality is maintained throughout the site. Her commitment to excellence instills a sense of pride in staff and a standard they are motivated to meet.
