Rachael Obaroh, health care aide
Rachael is an exceptional, unpretentious health care aide who isn't concerned with who gets the glory. A foundational member of St. Teresa Place since 2017, Rachael works in the Kindness neighbourhood (the memory care unit) as a permanent night health care aide.
Rachael consistently demonstrates clear, lucid written communication to her teammates. It's one of her strengths, observing and reporting changes to residents in a timely manner. The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) has received emails from two different LPNs expressing their gratitude for the clarity of her communication. Transferring clear information from one person to the rest of the team is one of the most important factors in the care of others.
Rachael demonstrates the power of working together to get results. Her colleagues see this in her orientation to new hires, teaching and helping them with the night routine. They see this in her ability to manage her energy as she is never too tired to lend a helping hand. And they see this in her innovative ideas to enhance their employee award and recognition program.
