Mitchell Prowse, rehabilitation assistant
Residents and families love Mitch Prowse, rehabilitation assistant, because he consistently does little extras. He brings his dog in once a month on his day off to visit residents who love dogs. The two of them bring lots of smiles. He listens to residents and family concerns and does his best to meet needs. He spent a lot of time getting a resident the bariatric bed she needs.
Mitch helps wherever needed. He had led family care conferences and interdisciplinary team rounds when the social worker and nurse were not able to attend. He regularly helps health care aides transfer residents.
He fosters a caring and understanding environment in which everyone he encounters feels valued and supported by him. Residents say they look forward to their sessions with Mitch, and he checks in just to see how they are doing. With new hires, he always has a smile on his face, and he tries to make team members’ jobs easier.
Mitch teaches “It’s your move classes.” He is an engaging teacher who shares new knowledge in a way that empowers his students. Staff know when they ask him anything he will give them a hand.
