Kaytlyn Hohn, project co-ordinator
Working with the digital communications team, Kaytlyn Hohn, project coordinator, has improved the accessibility of information about accreditation, quality and patient safety for staff across the organization. Learning best practices for digital communications she has made this content user-friendly by approaching the content from the perspective of the employees using CompassionNet, Covenant Health’s intranet.
Kaytlyn accepted feedback, listened to reasoning behind best practices and then communicated them to her team to collaboratively improve information sharing. She worked with her team to identify the most important information. Then with the digital team, they reordered the content into clearly defined topics and used creative approaches to present information for easier navigation.
Having streamlined, accessible information on the intranet allows staff to spend less time searching, time which could be spent improving patient and resident outcomes and providing person-centered care.
Kaytlyn takes an active role in ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date and importantly removes outdated or unused information. In areas like quality, patient safety, accreditation and medication management, having current, accurate information allows point of care staff to provide our patients and residents with the safest possible care.
