TEAM, together everyone achieves more, is an acronym the Joy West day shift at St. Teresa Place lives by. Residents are their focus. They involve residents and their families in the care experience. One resident wanted to have something meaningful to do, and she always wanted to help during mealtimes. The team gave this resident the opportunity to clear dishes after meals. She benefits from having this task, so the entire team supports her.
The Joy West day shift builds strong relationships with families as well as residents. One family moved in both parents and has been part of the community for almost four years. When the mother passed away, the floor invited their residents and staff to grieve by providing an opportunity to view the online memorial service. They share their joys and sorrows together.
This team pulls together to manage staff shortages. If someone needs a hand, they know they can call on a colleague. They communicate effectively to meet the needs of their residents with the resources available. The team is open to creative and innovative solutions to problems.
The Joy West day shift is committed to teamwork. They see their successes and failures as a group effort. They want to be the best they can be together for their residents.
