Trina Spray, cook / food services worker

Trina’s dedication and teamwork have made her a great leader at Killam Health Centre. Drawing on her 17 years of experience, she is a mentor who has the ability to train new staff and has very high standards.

Trina dedicates her time to making the food services department user-friendly and ensuring that new staff are directed to the information they require. Trina is very respectful to co-workers, management, residents and visitors. It does not matter how busy she is, she always finds the time to acknowledge others.

Trina is great at organizing lists and tasks in a way that is easy for others to understand. She always follows up with others to confirm that a process is understood. She observes, listens and helps when needed and is very willing to train new staff. She has a sense of how new staff are doing and integrates the training in a way that does not overwhelm the trainee.

Trina is very approachable, easy to talk to when a situation arises in the department and a great communicator. She listens to her co-workers who have input when problem solving. She is always looking at alternate ways to help adapt to changes whether within her department or with others. When problem solving, she looks at all sides of the issue and takes into account how it will affect all those involved.
