Jatinder's compassion is obvious to everyone she comes into contact with at St. Teresa Place. As a committed health care aide often working on night shifts, she is known as a trustworthy person concerned for the sufferings of others.

Jatinder teaches us that compassion requires discipline, courage and kindness to effectively respond to the pain of others. Her courage to enter the pain of others and to show kindness is evident to residents and those around her. When exposed to the suffering of residents, Jatinder has the courage to provide compassion regardless of the outcome.

Jatinder’s knowledge of her own vulnerability appears to open the doors of compassion to others. She is comfortable being present with residents in their moment of distress, and she impacts others through her kindness and her ability to see that everyone is worthy of respect.
