Gurdev Gill, housekeeping aide
Gurdev keeps a clean and safe environment for everyone who enters St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital. She truly cares about her residents and does the “little” extras so they are comfortable, safe and happy. She cleans their rooms according to their schedule and not hers. Gurdev talks to them while she is cleaning and asks them about their day and how their family members are doing.
Gurdev always provides service with a smile. She is the first one to detect if something is wrong with her co-workers or residents. She always lends an ear if you need to talk or vent about your problems. She makes you feel better just by listening and not judging. For those residents whose family members are away, Gurdev spends a little more time with them because she knows that they are lonely.
Gurdev never forgets a birthday or other special occasions in your life. She will always bring a little something to celebrate your special day and let you know that she cares. When you are having bad days or have lost someone close to you, Gurdev is the first one to want to do something to let you know that she is thinking about you. She has been through a lot in her own life, so she knows how to respond to others in the same situation.
Gurdev takes pride in her job. She is quick to see a better way to clean and she will discuss it with her co-workers and supervisors and implement the improvement. Gurdev loves helping people and she does it every single day. She is a joy to work with. She cares about you and it shows.
