Amparo Aristizabal, health care aide

Amparo has a deep heart of compassion for the residents that are assigned into her care at St. Marguerite Manor. Amparo will come to work earlier than her shift so that she can take extra time to thoughtfully attend to her assigned residents. She will bathe them, dress them beautifully, do their makeup and make sure they look nice before leaving their rooms.

Amparo has an incredible gift of listening with empathy, compassion and focused attention when she is engaging a resident during their care. She seems to know what they need and how to meet the need before the resident even expresses it. She talks quietly and engagingly, asking them questions and detailing and explaining what she is about to do while she converses with them. This approach seems to give her residents a sense of hope and happiness, and after the care is provided many residents have a peaceful smile and joy on their faces.

Amparo advocates and speaks up for those she cares for, and she works well with her team. She has a beautiful engaging smile that draws us all to a place of hope and support.
