Amanda Larocque, licensed practical nurse
Amanda is a model example when it comes to adjusting and adapting to diverse work situations, challenging situations and new tasks. Since COVID-19 began, Amanda has been assigned many diverse and often challenging situations and roles throughout both Holy Cross Manor and St. Marguerite Manor. She handles the complaints, concerns and issues with an adaptability that shows her excellent leadership and care skills.
Amanda was assigned a very difficult project of sorting through resident files for cleaning and keeping of documentation. She has also been involved in teaching the team new procedures and protocols, doing doctors’ rounds and assisting the team leads in the care of the residents. She is very conscientious about making sure the right process, procedures and protocols are followed and will challenge the norm if it is not being done correctly. She challenges the situation with a teachable approach and never leaves a team member feeling inadequate or incompetent because of what was found. Amanda affirms team members and inspires them to find creative ways of resolving the problems or she encourages them to see what they need to revisit in their training to execute the best possible care. She has a friendly and bubbly personality which inspires others to do their best, and her open attitude inspires others to seek her help without fear of reprisal or reprimand.
Amanda is a fantastic team player and leader in any situation. She is deeply loved by her teams and especially by the residents, who say that she is kind, compassionate and takes care of all their problems.
