King Kan, volunteer

 

Volunteer, King Kan’s commitment to service is commendable. Despite living over 45 minutes away from the site she comes in four days a week to teach Tai Chi on nine units. She is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those she serves.

King’s efforts extend beyond the confines of her Tai Chi sessions; she also contributes to fostering a sense of community in the site. Her ability to connect with all participants on a personal level contributes to the development of a positive, supportive atmosphere, enriching the overall experience for everyone.

She provides patient and supportive guidance, fostering a sense of comfort and security among residents as they engage in Tai Chi exercises promoting physical and mental wellbeing. King has created a welcoming and inclusive environment where individuals feel supported on their journey to better health.

King gives individualized attention to residents recognizing and addressing their specific physical challenges or limitations ensuring everyone can participate at their own pace. She emphasizes self-discovery and personal growth. She guides residents through the forms and movements, encouraging each to explore their own abilities, limitations and improvements without imposing personal bias or opinion. Residents feel heard and valued during Tai Chi sessions, contributing to their overall sense of emotional wellbeing.
