Don Gustum, volunteer

Resident Don Gustum is the face of St. Therese Villa. He assists in many areas at the site. He includes everyone and lends a hand to all. His help lightens the load on staff. He has a strong bond with everyone, and everyone knows his name. He adjusts his time to meet the demands of the site and volunteers his time to help the site run smoothly.

He does things to support residents. Don delivers their mail, newspapers and packages. He takes many residents to activities like music performances, church or hair appointments. While doing this he builds relationships with staff, residents and family members. Don is often talking with someone. He also helps set up chairs for activities. He treats all residents with respect and dignity.

Don works to make the site beautiful. He is a primary contributor to the flower gardens which are important because they improve the residents’ quality of life. Every evening in the summer he can be seen watering the flowers and greeting visitors to ensure they feel welcome.
