Anita Gajadhar, occupational therapy team lead
Anita is recognized by staff as “the heart of the OT department”. She’s the team lead for her occupational therapy colleagues at Grey Nuns Community Hospital. She’s both an excellent clinician and a team player who sets a tone of respect and integrity for the department.
Anita values the opinion of everyone she works with. She is mindful of their needs and understands the impact even a small schedule change can have on their busy lives. She carries her own caseload but won’t hesitate to reach out to others who may need assistance, including newer staff who might require more direction.
Her ability to truly listen means others feel heard, valued and understood. She takes time to hear patients’ frustrations and supports them through difficult situations. Her calm demeanor enables her to have difficult conversations with colleagues without becoming upset herself. When it comes to conflict, her goal is to understand, process, then resolve the issue with all parties involved.
Anita comes to work every day with an open heart, helpful demeanour and respectful nature. Her teammates view her as a valuable resource and feel proud to serve alongside her.
